WinMill Software helped one of the country's largest sub-prime lenders seal their position as a top-tier player in the red-hot mortgage industry. The company's 1500 brokers span 20 states and process tens of thousands of mortgages every year. Yet as the company has grown over the last 20 years, its operational efficiency began to lag; loan processing remained a manual process with forms, requests and reports being physically passed between departments. In a market that was demanding increasingly shorter turnaround time, this company was being challenged by nimble upstart competitors.
The company needed a new Loan Processing system that would change the way they do business. The system needed to facilitate rapid workflow processing between departments. It needed to be available to brokers around the country. It needed to perform under high-stress usage, and be available 24 hours/day. And most importantly, it needed to be extremely flexible to accommodate the constantly changing business environment.
The broker partnered with WinMill to build a new application using IBM's WebSphere and an Oracle database. The first release of the J2EE application was released in just six months, with new functionality now being released every month. The company leveraged WinMill's expertise with J2EE application design, open systems architecture, and project methodology to create a powerful, flexible application that is being used by its brokers around the country.
