Large Benefit Fund Deploys Next Generation Benefits System
These trust Funds, established through collective bargaining agreements, manage health and retirement benefits for over 200,000 active and formerly active workers in the building trades.
The Fund had been running its core operations on an aging benefit administration system and was in desperate need of an upgrade. To support this initiative, WinMill worked with the Fund to develop a detailed Request For Proposal (RFP) for the new system. WinMill then helped the Fund to vet and ultimately select a vendor. The fund next retained WinMill to manage all phases of implementation, testing, and data conversion. The project was massive; it spanned several years, required a full staff of vendor developers and a client testing team of more than 50 people. WinMill was instrumental in supporting each phase of the project, helping to guide the project to its successful completion.
WinMill Software managed the benefits system implementation project to its successful conclusion, giving the fund a modern system emphasizing automation, flexibility and electronic workflow. As a result of WinMill's diligent management of scope, schedule, and budget, the Fund was able to proactively make decisions at each critical juncture in the project. The new system is designed to accommodate the unique and ever-evolving business needs of the Fund.
