As a member of the WinMill Management team, the Manager I has a unique opportunity to help set the direction of the company. This is the first level of management at WinMill. In order to become a Manager I, an associate must demonstrate the ability to formally mentor two or more WinMill associates. Managers I will be assigned a team of up to five WinMill associates and may still have mentoring responsibilities. They may also manage a small project with assistance from senior management. Managers I have regular meetings with their team members, both one-on-one, and in groups. They are responsible for associates' training plans, resumes, and performance reviews.
Managers I are experts at building Internet applications, and are proficient users of the tools used during every stage of the development lifecycle. They are skilled not only at using technology to solve a client's business problems, but also at helping the client to identify the problem in the first place. Managers I have significant industry experience in one or more vertical markets. These skills, combined with experience using a broad range of development tools, make Managers I some of the most highly regarded associates in the industry.
A Manager I works closely with the WinMill Software Account Managers to build and maintain strong, positive client relationships. They ensure that all work produced by WinMill Software is of the highest quality and meets WinMill's rigorous standards of excellence. Managers I also ensure that all deliverables are produced on time and on budget. They may also be involved in WinMill's public course offerings as vendor-certified instructors.
A Manager I will typically spend 2-3 years mastering this role before being considered for the Manager II position.
