WinMill Software has been delivering high-quality Intranet, client/server and database solutions to JP Morgan Chase Manhattan bank for over seven years. When JP Morgan Chase officers decided that the time had come to consolidate their disparate and outdated
accounting and reporting systems into a Web-based reporting gateway, they turned to WinMill Software to make it happen.
The challenge was formidable: integrate legacy applications and the general ledger to provide a one-stop reporting interface that would allow authorized users to customize reports and project monthly closes through the corporate Intranet.
 Using IBM's WebSphere, WinMill introduced Java servlets, JSP and XML to integrate Oracle, DB2 and VSAM databases with the Web site, eliminating the need to create costly and error-prone data replication. The site now provides ad-hoc and drill-down reporting capabilities
through a security component that restricts access by line of business.
The performance benefits were immediate: reports that used to take two and a half hours to execute were now appearing in under three minutes, and the labor intensive process of creating month end reports was replaced with an efficient and accurate automated system.
